The strength of the city\u2019s public-private partnership approach to recovery in Derby was highlighted.<\/p>\n<div         class=\"\n          image-block-outer-wrapper\n          layout-caption-below\n          design-layout-inline\n          combination-animation-horizontal-clip\n          individual-animation-none\n          individual-text-animation-none\n        \"\n        data-test=\"image-block-inline-outer-wrapper\"\n    ><\/p>\n<figure             class=\"\n              sqs-block-image-figure\n              intrinsic\n            \"\n            style=\"max-width:500px;\n  overflow: hidden;\n\"\n        ><br \/>\n            <button                 class=\"\n                  sqs-block-image-button\n                  lightbox\n                \"\n                data-description=\"\"\n                data-lightbox-theme=\"dark\"\n            ><br \/>\n              <span class=\"v6-visually-hidden\">View fullsize<\/span><\/p>\n<div               class=\"image-block-wrapper\"\n              data-animation-role=\"image\"\n  data-animation-override\n          ><\/p>\n<div class=\"sqs-image-shape-container-element\\n              has-aspect-ratio\\n            \" style>\n              <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"thumb-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/02\/2_image28429.png\" data-image=\"https:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2022\/02\/2_image28429.png\" data-image-dimensions=\"500x333\" data-image-focal-point=\"0.5,0.5\" alt=\"image (4).png\" data-load=\"false\" data-image-id=\"5f17fe464b6e444d6053e010\" data-type=\"image\" >\n            <\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>            <\/button><br \/>\n        <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Focusing on the future of the city centre, and coming just a few days after the announcement to build a new 3,500 seater performance venue as part of the regeneration of the Becketwell area, Paul Simpson said: &#8220;We need to encourage more people to come to Derby city centre&#8230;we need to diversify our offer &#8211; there is so much more that we can do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">A panel drawn from architects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/maber\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maber<\/a>, law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/smith-partnership\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smith Partnership<\/a>, and developers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/st-james-securities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St James Securities<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingderby.co.uk\/urban-sister-developments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Urban Sister<\/a>, gave unique insights and perspectives on the shaping of post-Covid city centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Paul Morris, Development Director at St James Securities, which is working with Derby City Council on plans to invest \u00a3200m to transform the Becketwell area \u2013 the city\u2019s regeneration priority \u2013 outlined plans for the new performance venue, public square, 200 apartments, office and hotel, said: \u201cWe see the plans for Becketwell as being the new beating heart for Derby city centre, and the starting point for the regeneration of the wider area. It will give others the confidence to pick up the mantle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Polls undertaken during the event showed that attendees left feeling optimistic about the future of Derby.
