Here, in his latest monthly column reflecting on the news over the past month, our Press and PR Executive Robin Johnson looks at the headlines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, I was having a crisis. I was on the way home from Derby County<\/a>\u2019s Pride Park Stadium after \u2018competing\u2019 in the Derbyshire Brain Game as part of the Marketing Derby<\/a> team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I freely admit that I had contributed very little to our performance this year (apart from a question about Love Island, which, for the record, I\u2019ve never watched in my life – honest!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had come to the conclusion that after 50 years on this earth I knew absolutely nothing \u2013 and should hand my degree back to my university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People often say to me, as a journalist, you should know stuff about pretty much everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But after writing one story, you quickly move onto the next one, then the next and so forth. You end up developing what I call \u2018goldfish brain\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least there were two things to console me that night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first, that I know for a fact that the colour of a zebra\u2019s skin is not blue \u2013 despite what one of the Marketing Derby team thought (it\u2019s black by the way). They shall remain nameless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second, that this year\u2019s Brain Game raised more than \u00a360,000 for Marie Curie, taking the total amount raised for the charity since the event\u2019s inception to over \u00a3500,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
